A Taste of Contemporary Ireland

I just finished a contemporary novel set in Ireland! There have been many books set in Ireland and I'm glad to say that I loved this book as much as I've love Nora Roberts or Dorien Kelly's contemporary books set in Ireland.

Love and Shenanigans by Zara Keane is a flirty story filled with humor, engaging characters and love.

Fiona Byrne is feisty, curvy, and head over heels for Gavin Maguire. She was manipulated into not only attending his wedding to her high-maintenance cousin, but is also in the wedding party. Problem is, Gavin is already married – to Fiona. After a drunken night in Las Vegas eight years prior, they’d exchanged vows. Now Fiona has to put her dream-of-a-lifetime trip on hold to sort out the mess and take care of her injured aunt.

Gavin Maguire has always like Fiona, he just didn’t expect to still be married to her when his bride is walking down the isle. There goes his bride, job, and home and perhaps any secure future as an architect. Yes, he’s attracted to the happy go lucky Fiona, despite her somewhat wild clothing. But, does he really want to remain married to her when so much in his future is on the line?

Fiona and Gavin grapple with their feelings for each other while trying to keep their lives on an even keel when chaos has erupted. Their interactions are witty, fun, and sexy. The characters are engaging as the reader feels as if they are sitting at the kitchen table talking with Fiona and her Aunt Birdie.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and can’t wait to read the rest. Zara Keane has used her Irish roots to write a story in contemporary Ireland that is fun, smart, and has the reader so hooked you don’t want to put the book down until you’ve read every last word.

I received an ARC to provide an honest review.
