Indigo Sky Author Gail Ingis Interview!

Welcome Gail Ingis!

Sultry summer days bring back memories of summers spent in Coney Island. I’m counting my blessings, for those rich memories, for good health and prosperity, to the amazing circle of friends my art and writing careers have brought into my life.

Thank you to my gracious host, published author at Soul Mate Publishing, Madelyn Hill.

Indigo Sky, in print, is practically on my doorstep. The audiobook is waiting for my approval. The job of listening is at hand, and what a joy it is.  Actor Jane Oppenheimer has brought my book to another level. You can check out my blog on C. D. Hersh, and get the scoop how to do an audiobook. http://wp.me/p1tsn7-1ah

Interview with Gail!

MusicDo you listen when you write? I never have, but I love my music, classical, country, Boston Pops and Celine Dion. I decided to try listening. When I begin writing, it flows, but other thoughts crowd out my story. Maybe music is the answer. This is a test. So far it feels great.

Ocean or Mountains—I love bodies of water, any lake or river, even a waterfall, like Yosemite Falls. Doesn’t matter what form it is, a bubbling brook, a raging river, an ocean. And . . . did you ever see the snow-capped mountains in summertime in Utah? My goodness, so majestic, so magnificent. They poke through the atmosphere and soar toward the heavens.

What does your writing process look like? —I always begin to plot, but it all changes as I write. What’s the point? Another problem with plot creation. I end up with descriptions, lots. I am an artist before I’m a writer, so everything I think of is visual. Descriptions flow, but a story, no. I’m trying something new. I am listening to music and writing. This is going pretty quickly. Let’s see if I can write a story just as quickly.

Where do I see yourself in ten years? — On BookBub. Is that a lofty goal? You see, I’m already retired from other careers and in my golden years. I am still trying to figure out why this time is called golden? I’m not King Midas, and I am busier than I have ever been, with my back-to-back appointments, involvements, painting and writing and teaching. And ballroom dancing. Love every minute, and can’t wait to finish listening to my novel’s audiobook, Indigo Sky.

Where did I grow up, and how did this influence your writing? — This is a great question. Although an Aunt gave me books to read. I loved reading, and writing poetry, but I also spent time
Cyclone, Oh, What a Ride
--drawing. I grew up in Brooklyn. Coney Island was my playground. In October 2015, Soul Mate published my book, Indigo Sky. It was then that I finally finished my painting project. My memories of Coney Island are finally on canvas.

Recently, I installed my exhibition of thirty-eight Coney Island paintings from Surf Avenue to the boardwalk all the way to Neptune Avenue and the beach. The exhibition can be viewed at Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum 295 West Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut. Mark your calendar and come to the art bash on Thursday, September 8, 2016, 5:30-7:30pm. See a ballroom dance demo, refreshments by Susan Kane, caterer, my book signing, and maybe even a jazz band.

Highland Hope - Available For Pre Order!

Hello Readers!

I'm so excited to announce the first book in the Wild Thistle Trilogy is now available for pre-order!
The trilogy is about three sisters and how each of them are guided by their father's dying words. Book 1 starts with Hope, the eldest sister, who has the unique position of running a clan as a female laird. I hope you enjoy these strong women who fight for themselves and for the men they love.

Highland Hope
Book 1 in the Wild Thistle Trilogy

“Remember, lasses. Through Hope, Faith, and Honor, ye can rule,” were the last words Lady Hope MacAlister’s father spoke before dying. Those very words direct her every action and thought. Sword fighting and leading the men of her clan was second nature to Hope and she has little time for herself or any thoughts of love. Until Aidan MacKerry is captured spying on the clan.

She is beautiful, strong, and quick to pull a sword. But when he kisses her, all thoughts of the lairdship Aidan MacKerry seeks flee his mind. When the enemy continues to undermine Hope, Aidan is determined to aid her—only he didn’t think he’d lose his heart to the Laird of Wild Thistle Keep. When the enemy reveals Aidan’s secret, he must fight for his right to be laird and prove, despite their differences, he loves Hope.

The enemy refuses to back down and continues to threaten not only Hope, but the security of the entire clan. Only together will they be able to save the clan and save their love.
